Matobo National Park
Situated in the Matobo Hills - a range of domes, spires and balancing rocks, made of a solid granite plateau through millions of years of erosion and weathering. The majestic and rugged terrain of the park is a hiker's paradise, and the rich diversity of the vegetation supports a wide range of wildlife, birdlife and fish species.
The Matobo area has great spiritual and cultural significance to the local people, and there are many sites within the park where important ceremonies still take place. Many rock paintings are still visible and make for a worthwhile visit. The park is ideally located close to the country’s capital of Bulawayo and is easily accessible by road. Accommodation is available to suit all, ranging from Luxury Lodges, chalets and campsites.
